A Wake County home was destroyed in a fire late Tuesday night.

Multiple fire departments were dispatched to the scene on Carnoustie Way just before midnight. Fire crews arrived on scene to a house engulfed in flames, and they are still working to put out the fire.

Three adults and two children were able to escape the fire. One Raleigh firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

The Northern Wake, Raleigh and Durham Highway fire departments and other surrounding agencies are helping put out the fire.

Firefighters have been working for hours to extinguish the fire. Crews are not able to get any firetrucks down the road because the water froze over the road.

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker was on scene shortly after 2 a.m.
