RALEIGH, N.C. — It's another holiday week -- and there's plenty to do!

Monday

Chevy Chase Live (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, 2 E. South Street, Raleigh) - After a screening of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, the actor will stories from his career and the making of his classic movies and legendary television.

Oceans: Our Blue Planet 3D (Marbles IMAX, 201 E. Hargett St., Raleigh) - The film takes audiences on a global odyssey into the largest and least explored habitat on earth. Shows continue all week.
Big Something with Toubab Krewe (Lincoln Theatre, 126 E. Cabarrus St., Raleigh) - Big Something is an alternative rock band based in Burlington.

Tuesday

Happy New Year's Eve! Here are some of the biggest events:

WRAL First Night Raleigh is the biggest party in the area. Over 20 blocks of downtown Raleigh will be filled with art, music, comedy, theatre, crafts and more before the countdown to midnight.

Transfer Co. Food Hall is hosting a party in their ballroom.
Mikaya Thurmond will emcee the countdown to 2020 at the Rocky Mount Mills Hop Drop. There will be live music, a DJ and beer releases.
Enjoy hors d'oeuvres from PoshNosh, sip on cocktails and enjoy cotton candy at this party at CAM Raleigh's Viva La Masquerade.
Rocky Top Catering's New Year's Eve Gala is a black tie, all-inclusive gala with four floors of delicious food, open bars, craft cocktails, rockin' DJ's and a live band.

Wednesday

It's 2020, folks! Here's a list of what's open if you need to go shopping.

Some events to check out:

KwanzaaFest (Durham Armory, 220 Foster St., Durham) - There will be free performances, collaborate with businesses and non-profits and a food drive for the homeless. There will also be a drum circle and children's village, blood pressure checks and fruit and water.
New Year's Day Brunch Bash (Rosewater Kitchen & Bar, 110 Park at North Hills St., Raleigh) - Rosewater will be offering their new weekend brunch menu with $3 mimosas and traditional New Year's Day specials.
New Year's Pajama Brunch (The Irregardless Cafe, 901 W. Morgan St., Raleigh) - If you come in your pjs, you’ll get $5 off your meal!
New Year's Day Hike (Eno River State Park, 6101 Cole Mill Road, Durham) - Two hike options will be offered -- a longer, 4.4 mile hike on the Holden Mill Loop as well as a shorter, 2.6 mile route on Fanny’s Ford Trail.

Thursday

Yappy Hour (Clouds Brewing, 126 N. West St., Raleigh) - A special menu will be offered for guests and their pups every Thursday! Proceeds will go toward an animal charity each month.
Born Again Heathens (Pour House Music Hall, 224 S. Blount St., Raleigh) - Born Again Heathens, Black Horse Run and Stranded Bandits will play.
Cocktails and Conversation (Solas, 419 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh) - Meet beautiful people from a variety of backgrounds, discussing their careers, accomplishments, families and more while enjoying drinks, music and good energy.

Friday

Cat's Cradle Turns 50 (Cat's Cradle, 300 E. Main St., Carrboro) - This famed music venue is celebrating its 50th birthday with six nights of music starting Friday night with acts including Tift Merrit and Ellis Dyson & the Shambles.
New Year, New You Party (Proof Five Points, 1620 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh) - There will be music, art, comedy, dancing and a scavenger hunt. Proceeds benefit Piedmont Wildlife Center, a Durham-based organization with a mission to connect people to nature across the Triangle.
First Friday at CAM (CAM, 409 W. Martin St, Raleigh) - There will be a DJ, dancing and more surprises.
Michael Kosta (Raleigh Improv, 1224 Parkside Main St., Cary) - Michael Kosta was previously the host and co-executive producer of 'The Comment Section' for the E! Network and is well known from his numerous late-night appearances on Conan, The Tonight Show and Seth Meyers.
