Employee found with gunshot wound in CineBowl parking lot

Authorities said an employee of the theater at 1140 Parkside Main Street was walking through the parking lot at about 8:20 p.m. when he found a coworker suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Authorities on Monday identified the victim as Marcel Hasty, 20.

He was taken to Duke Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said. It was not immediately clear Monday if he had been released from the hospital.

Police said no suspects were in custody Sunday night.

CineBowl and Grille remained open as authorities conducted the investigation in the parking lot.

Authorities said they did not know if the shooter and victim knew each other, but they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
