Durham police looking for woman accused of stealing flag, dragging person at city council meeting

A woman told Durham officers she was holding a flag at the meeting when a woman pictured in the photos took her flag and dragged her across the floor.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are asking for the public’s help in finding a woman involved in an assault and a larceny from a city council meeting at Durham City Hall the night of Feb. 5.

A woman told officers she was holding an Israeli flag at the meeting when another woman took her flag and dragged her across the floor.

The offense happened during the protest of the Israel-Hamas war with a group interrupting a council meeting to demand a cease-fire resolution.

Police are looking for a woman involved in an assault and larceny that occurred at a Durham City Council meeting on Feb. 5.

The woman who was victimized had minor injuries.

The assault is under investigation.
