Raleigh police have charged a man with DWI after he crashed into a Raleigh home late Saturday night.

Police said Jonathan Trujillo was driving the Chevy Impala that struck a home in the 5600 block of Marthonna Way just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities said Trujillo had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.

Authorities said a family was inside the house at the time of the crash, but nobody was hurt.

Neighbors said slower traffic speeds around the Ansley neighborhood could have made a difference.

“We’ve had a big issue in this neighborhood of everybody going too fast. It’s only 25 mph going through here, and me and my wife were actually talking about how we could get speed humps put into the neighborhood,” Nicolas Bird said.

The family who lives in the home will be unable to return until power can be restored.
