Driver charged with DWI after 6 seriously hurt in Princeton crash

Six people were seriously injured in a crash in Princeton on Sunday morning.

PRINCETON, N.C. — Six people were seriously injured in a crash in Princeton on Sunday morning.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers said a person driving a pickup truck ran a red light and crashed into a car at the intersection of US Highway 70 and Pine Street just after midnight.

That driver was arrested on DWI charges. More charges are possible.

A driver was charged with a DWI after crashing into a car at an intersection along Highway 70 in Princeton.

A cooler full of beer was found in the pickup truck. Those hurt were taken to WakeMed hospital.

We are working to learn more about the conditions of those involved in the crash.
