Durham Public Schools (DPS) have asked parents to continue to find transportation for students in light of staffing issues.

DPS announced 25 school bus routes did not have service Monday afternoon. On Monday evening, a district spokesperson released a statement, saying "Our transportation situation continues to change, and we ask that you continue to assist in transporting your students to and from school."

The following buses did not provide bus service on Monday:

24, 26, 37, 38, 117, 122, 129, 131, 132, 137, 207, 213, 229, 235, 236, 246, 252, 253, 601, 613, 616, 623, 627, 644 and 645.

On Monday morning, DPS asked families to find their own transportation for students for at least 15 bus routes, including those above.

"We are running a list of canceled bus routes on our website, dpsnc.net. Please check the website frequently for any additional bus route cancelations," a statement from DPS read. "Additionally, notifications will also be shared via the Edulog Parent Portal App with specific bus route cancelations.

This is part of an ongoing issue within the district related to an overpayment error with school staff members.
