Cumberland County counts two fatal shootings on first day of 2024
Two men died of gunshots on the first day of 2024 in Cumberland County.

The first incident took place before 8 a.m. near the intersection of Batcave Drive and John B. Carter Road. Few details were available, and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office asked anyone with information to call Det. Sgt. J. Mcleod at 910-677-5548 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS (8477).
Just after 5 p.m., Fayetteville police were notified of gunshots in the 1800 block of Harris Street. There they found a man shot dead in a back yard.
That man was 36-year-old David Earl Page Jr. No other information was released.
