CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A passenger refused to wear her face mask properly and loudly voiced her frustrations to everyone on an American Airlines flight from Charlotte to Washington, D.C., on Sunday.

“I woke up to ... screaming about how this was tyranny and we have to stand up for this,” passenger Jonathan Asfour said.

Other passengers told NBC affiliate WCNC it started when people sitting near the woman voiced concerns after she continued to improperly wear her mask below her nose.

In the video, the woman can be heard yelling, "If we don't stand up it's only going to get worse." You can also hear another passenger muttering, "Get her off."

The federal air marshal stepped in to help control the situation.

“The stewardess and flight attendants couldn’t do anything she was just going crazy," Asfour said.

Once the flight landed, American Airlines said police escorted the passenger off the plane. She is also being placed on the airline's “no-fly list” pending further investigation.
