CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A pug with the impressive competition name of GCHS CH Hill Country's Puttin' On The Ritz, also known as "Biggie," placed first in the Toy Group this week at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

"Winning a Westminster Group is the culmination of years of hard work, training, showing and breeding. Congratulations to the owners, breeders and handler," said Westminster Kennel Club Director of Communications Gail Miller Bisher.

"Biggie," a 3-year-old male, is owned by Carolyn Koch, was bred by Kristy and Kevin Ratliff and is handled by Esteban Farias.

He beat out a Pekingese, an affenpinscher and an English toy spaniel to take the group title. A bichons frises, GCHP CH Belle Creek's All I Care About Is Love, won Best in Show.

"Biggie" came into the contest outside the DN Magazine Top 20 dogs overall. Another pug, CHP CH Hill Country’s Let’s Get Ready to Rumble (aka Rumble), was the only one of his breed on that list.
