DURHAM, N.C. — A string of vandalism terrorized a Durham neighborhood 24 hours ago, leaving at least six cars and three homes damaged around East Main Street.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m.

Security footage captured the culprit slowly approaching parked cars, followed by glass shattering.

"We heard a loud series of pops," Echo Wright, vandalism victim, said. "Finding out our neighbors were hit too made it clear this wasn't random."

The video shows the suspect casually walking down the street, using bricks to smash car windows seemingly at random.

The vandalism extended beyond vehicles, with Wright finding a brick lodged in their home's window.

"Having your car vandalized is bad enough, but a smashed window in your house is truly unsettling," Wright said.

Durham Police are still investigating the incident.

They reported that at least six vehicles and three homes had been damaged.

The motive for the attacks remains unclear.

"It seems like the person responsible was having a bad night," Wright said. "While I'm relieved it wasn't targeted at me specifically, it's still a blow to our entire community."

Police are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
