Posted — UpdatedTwo local towns are reopening additional park facilities that closed during COVID.
Starting this week, most of Cary's previously-closed parks, recreation and cultural resources facilities will reopen to the public with limited summer hours. More will open in July.
Among the highlights for families beyond summer camps:
- The boathouse at Bond Park will restart weekday boat rentals.
- The Cary Theater will resume in-person movie screenings
- And Cary Arts Center will offer limited arts and recreation classes.
“This is a huge step in bringing the places and people that make Cary so special together,” said Doug McRainey, director of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources, said in a press release. “We’re so excited to be able to safely host programs, events and classes that allow us all to learn and have fun together in person, and to add those to the virtual and outdoor programs we’ve offered throughout the past year just makes it more special.”
