Cary Fire Department responds to fire in shopping center near Walnut Street

Crews responded to a fire in Cary late Monday night.

CARY, N.C. — Crews responded to a fire in Cary late Monday night.

Around 11:20 p.m., the Cary Fire Department was called to Tobacco and Vapor, located between Moe's and Tenko Japan.

The fire was contained to that one suite, located on the 200 block of Meeting Street, not far from Walnut Street and Crossroads Plaza.

Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy smoke inside the store and quickly extinguished the fire inside the building. Fortunately, none of the other establishments within the shopping center were damaged.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Fire investigators have begun their investigation, which could take several days to complete. No further information is available at this time.
