All southbound lanes of Capital Boulevard are back open Saturday evening after crews worked to repair a water main break.

One lane was allowed to reopen on Saturday morning after the break closed all southbound lanes for hours overnight.

The break happened near the intersection with Fenton St., impacting the stretch between Fenton St. and Crabtree Blvd.

Crews had been working since 1:30 a.m., to fix the issue.

Officials said the break wasn't caused by anything specific – just aging infrastructure.

"Customers in this area should not experience any interruption of services. If interruption of services occurs, impacted customers will be notified by Raleigh Water staff via phone call, property visit, and/or doorhanger," said the City of Raleigh in a press release.
