SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Dixon Doll, co-founder and general partner at venture capital firm DCM, is the new chairman of the National Venture Capital Association.
Doll replaces Ted Schlein, a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Schlein helped lead the NVCA’s lobbying effort in Congress last year against changes in tax policy.
The NVCA named Doll as its new leader on Wednesday at its annual meeting in Santa Clara. Doll has been a member of the board since 2005.
"As the NVCA celebrates its 35th anniversary, we remain dedicated to our core mission – to support and encourage policies which serve America's entrepreneurs and innovators," Doll said in a statement. "In the next year we will continue to focus on high impact areas such as clean technology policy, patent reform, tax policy and regulations which support a healthy capital market system and overall U.S. competitiveness.”
Six new board members also were selected to serve four-year terms: James Fleming, Columbia Capital; Stephen Holmes, InterWest Partners; Deepak Kamra, Canaan Partners; Jack Lasersohn, The Vertical Group; Trevor Loy, Flywheel Ventures; and Ray Rothrock, Venrock Associates.
