LILLINGTON, N.C. — The Harnett County Sheriff's Office is investigating a man's death that resulted from an assault on Thursday in Lillington.

Deputies responded at 5:03 p.m. to the area of Sand Creek Lane, where they found Travis Lee Brazell, 47.

Brazell was pronounced dead by medical personnel at Central Harnett Hospital.

Upon investigation, it was determined that Travis suffered from injuries after an altercation with his brother, 43-year-old Jason Roy Brazell.

Jason was charged with second-degree murder and is being held in the Harnett County Detention Center on a $500,000 secured bond.
