RALEIGH, N.C. — Rain gradually moved out of central North Carolina on Thursday morning, but another system will bring more showers in the evening.

Clouds will persist through the afternoon before another chance for scattered showers moves in for the evening. According to WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell, some thunder isn't out of the question around 10 p.m. as a system moves in from the west, bringing rain and storms to the Triangle.

The evening commute should stay dry in most areas, said Campbell, and temperatures will drop into the low 40s overnight.

Although Friday and the weekend will be sunny and pleasant, temperatures will be below-normal for the first week of spring. Friday and Saturday will feature highs in the upper 50s, but Friday will be breezy with a low around 30 degrees, making for a cold morning.

Monday will see a big warm-up, with highs in the 70s, while Tuesday will bring another round of rain and a drop in temperatures.
