Boo, the world's cutest dog, dies

Boo, the fluffy Pomeranian known for his resemblance to a teddy bear, has died, according to his owners.

Boo's owners posted the news on Friday on a Facebook account dedicated to the dog, whose cute, furry face inspired children's books, stuffed animals and even comics. The Facebook page has over 16 million fans.

"With deepest sadness I wanted to share that Boo passed away in his sleep early this morning," the post read. "Our family is heartbroken, but we find comfort knowing that he is no longer in any pain or discomfort."

The dog has appeared twice on Good Morning America and brought happiness to his followers around the world.

"O’ve received so many notes over the years from people sharing stories of how Boo brightened their days and helped bring a little light to their lives during difficult times," the owner posted. And that was really the purpose of all this."

According to the post, his owners brought Boo home in 2006. Boo's owners wrote that the adorable Pomeranian will join his dog brother, Buddy, who died in 2017.

"We think [Boo's] heart literally broke when Buddy left us," they wrote. "He hung on and gave us over a year. But it looks like it was his time, and I’m sure it was a most joyous moment for them when they saw each other in heaven."
