Armed man tried to rob Raleigh bank, police say

Around 9 a.m., officers with the Raleigh Police Department responded to an armed robbery at South State Bank at 6623 Falls of Neuse Road.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police on Wednesday are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a bank.

Around 9 a.m., officers with the Raleigh Police Department responded to an attempted armed robbery at South State Bank at 6623 Falls of Neuse Road.

According to police, a man demanded money from a teller. A photo of the man wearing a heavy winter coat with the hood up was provided by the bank.

The teller did not have access to money, and the man fled the scene.

A weapon was implied but not seen, and no one was injured.

This is an ongoing investigation.
