'All clear' at UNC Charlotte after police activity on campus

Faculty, staff and students on Thursday were asked to avoid the area near UNC Charlotte's College of Education building due to "police action" in the area.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Faculty, staff and students on Thursday were asked to avoid the area near UNC Charlotte's College of Education building due to "police action" in the area.

The school sent a NinerAlert before 12:15 p.m. Multiple people said the campus was on lockdown.

Before 12:30 p.m., an "all clear" message was issued.
