919 Beer: Biere de Femme and Barrel Culture

Joe Ovies, Adam Eshbaugh and Wayne Holt host. They interview Caroline Smith, Festival Chairperson for the 3rd annual Biere de Femme, held at Highland Brewing Company Event Center, with 35 beers made specifically for the festival by women beer professionals from participating brewers. The event benefits the Pink Boots Society, an organization which inspires, encourages, and assists women beer professionals to further their careers through education. The beer guest this week is Paul Wasmund, head brewer at Barrel Culture Brewing Company in Durham. Paul talks about their clean beer program, and their sour program. He referred to some of the sour beers, Mango Dragonfruit, White Peach Grape, and the Pineapple Beets. They also offer some beer slushies, Maple Chocolate Slide, and the Blood Orange Melt. He also mentioned the Erosion Theories Peach Apricot Ale, and the Pie Time Ale.
