3 NC State Fair workers arrested on drug charges, Wake sheriff says

Three employees of the NC State Fair were arrested on the opening day of the annual event and are facing drug-related charges, the Wake County Sheriff's Office said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Three employees of the NC State Fair were arrested on the opening day of the annual event and are facing drug-related charges, the Wake County Sheriff's Office said Friday.

According to a written statement by the sheriff, the following suspects were taken into custody, including:

  • Migel Gonzalez, 40, is charged with felony possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana.
  • Jonathn Christen, 30, is charged with felony possession of marijuana.
  • Bridgette Brewer, 34, is charged with felony possession of marijuana.
  • Alayah Pearson, 19, received a citation for being in possession of marijuana.

Two juveniles, whose identities were not released because of their ages, were cited for underage drinking, according to the statement.

The annual NC State Fair began its 2019 run on Thursday, and lasts until Oct. 27.
