2 killed in head-on crash along US 421 in Sampson County

Two cars were involved in the wreck along US 421 near Plain View Highway right across from Central Baptist Church. Michael Harrell Thomas of Coats and Dovonda Reneee Moore of Dunn died in the crash.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers said Thomas was traveling south and hit Moore's vehicle after crossing the centerline.

Moore died at the scene. Thomas died at the hospital.

Both cars were badly mangled. There were no passengers involved.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, according to NCSHP.
