18-year-old walking in middle of I-540 hit by two trucks, including 18-wheeler

There was initially a crash involving a single car on the ramp of I-540 east, near the tree line.

Afterwards, a pedestrian appeared walking in the middle lane of I-540, where he was struck by a black pick-up truck and then again by an 18-wheeler.

The call for the crash came in shortly before midnight on Wednesday, shutting down two lanes of I-540 near Leesville Road. The lanes have since re-opened.

Officials aren't yet sure why he was walking in the road. It is not yet clear whether the pedestrian is connected with the original crash, as a driver or a passenger.
