Expect more bear sightings until August, wildlife experts say
According to wildlife groups, North Carolinians can experience an increase in bear sightings during the springtime, both in rural and urban areas of the mountains, coast and Piedmont. Calls to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission's (NCWRC) Wildlife Helpline have increased with questions about bears daily. Calls typically peak from late April through August, according to the commission.
