'My heart just dropped:' Mother says teacher's texts with her son crossed the line

Should a teacher ever text a student about relationships or love? What about texts during both the day and night? An upset mother of a middle school student contacted 5 On Your Side, saying she was disgusted about a case she says crossed the line and slipped through the system. The teacher is 35-year-old Latoya Snead, who was a teacher at McGee's Crossroads Middle School in Johnston County. The student receiving the texts was in the 8th grade. After investigation by the state, Snead was later hired by Union Middle School in Sampson County. She has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of an investigation.
