RALEIGH, N.C. — Early morning temperatures on Wednesday could reach or surpass a 111-year-old record as arctic air settles in across central and eastern North Carolina.

That record - 21 degrees.

By Wednesday morning, the bulk of the Triangle will see temperatures in the low 20s. Daytime highs will be in the low 40s under mostly sunny skies.

Daytime highs will warm slightly late in the work week, although temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s will still be below normal for November.

The arctic air mass that's bringing the cold air to North Carolina delivered 60 inches of lake effect snow to western New York.
