Suspect wanted in Goldsboro murder investigation

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal Sunday morning shooting in Goldsboro, authorities said.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro Police are searching for a second suspect in a murder that happened Sunday morning.

Police said David Dekarlo Sampson of Goldsboro is wanted for accessory after the fact to murder. Anyone with information about where Sampson could be or the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (919) 735-2255.

Manyele Lofton

On Monday, police arrested Manyele Lofton in connection to the shooting of Eric Delonta Brooks, 35, of Dudley. Brooks was found dead in his home at 104 Bright Street at 5:50 a.m. Sunday.

Lofton was being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under no bond. He had his first court appearance on Tuesday.

Another man, Rodney Calvin Randall, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and was then airlifted to Vidant Medial Center in Greenville. As of Tuesday evening, he was still listed in critical condition.
