Family, friends and colleagues will come together to honor the life of a U.S. Marshal who was shot and killed by a wanted fugitive in Charlotte on April 29.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Thomas M. “Tommy” Weeks Jr. is one of four law enforcement officers who died that day -- including Samuel "Sam" Poloche, Joshua Eyer and William "Alden" Elliot.

Last Wednesday, a processional carried Weeks; body from Medical Examiner's Office to the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville. A stretch of Interstate 77 from the I-85 interchange was closed during the procession.

Gov. Cooper is expected to attend the memorial service on Monday, which will take place at the Bojangles Coliseum at 10:30 a.m.
