Man arrested after high-speed chase, crash on NC 24 in Sampson County

Car flips after high-speed chase in Sampson County

A man has been arrested after a police chase ended in a crash Wednesday night in Sampson County.

A State Highway Patrol trooper was attempting to stop a car on N.C. Highway 24 near Roseboro when the driver sped off, the SHP said. According to radio traffic, the trooper said the car was going more than 120 mph.

As the trooper was chasing the car, the driver swerved lost control. The car flipped near the intersection of Microwave Tower Road and N.C. 24.

Three people were in the car, according to the trooper at the scene. One person had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The trooper said there were open alcohol containers in the car but the driver had not consumed the alcohol.

The driver, Antonio Styles, is charged with felony flee to elude and other minor charges.

No charges are expected for the other two passengers.
