I-440 West reopens near Lake Boone Trail after crash, woman seriously injured

A serious crash shut down Interstate 440 West Friday morning.
Authorities said a car and a dump truck were involved in the crash. The dump truck was attempting to turn into the construction zone when a car failed to stop and rear-ended the dump truck, according to authorities.
The woman who was driving the car that hit the truck has serious life-threatening injuries, authorities said. The dump truck driver was not injured.
No charges are expected.
I-440 West was closed between Lake Boone Trail and Wade Avenue, but the road has reopened.
